Combining Stress Management & Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy to promote Wellbeing
Transforming & Improving lives. Supporting women, in particular, stay home & working mums to manage stress. I also work with children helping them to cope in education & life beyond the classroom.
Hello and Welcome to my website.
As a Hypnotherapist, Stress Management & Wellbeing Consultant. I help people to use the power of their own minds to overcome fears, alleviate stress, phobias, habits, anxieties and limitations in order to live a more fulfilling life. My therapy clinic is based near Morpeth Northumberland, is easily accessed from the A1 and I also offer online sessions which means I can work nationally & globally.
It has been a difficult time this past couple of years with the COVID-19 pandemic, national lockdowns, the aftermath of homeschooling, working from home and isolation from family, friends and society in general. I have seen an increase in the number of women & children needing support to manage worrying thoughts and behaviours. CBT, Mindfulness and Hypnosis can really help to support mental health and wellbeing.
We all know of someone who has experienced overloads of stress, anxiety, overworked, lack of sleep, bullying, loneliness, fear, dealing with the loss of a loved one and grief, loss of employment and financial hardship and very sadly suicide.
In 2018 a study by the Mental Health Foundation found us to be a stressed nation, this figure is expected to have risen, intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic.
I use a unique integration of three proven modalities; Hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Mindfulness. This integrated approach together with your input during sessions will help you achieve successful therapeutic outcomes. During treatment sessions, you will also learn transferable coping skills, that can be implemented across different areas of your life.
As a Hypno-CBT® Therapist I combine psychotherapy, mindfulness & cognitive behavioural therapy with hypnotic imagery. This approach uses both “talking therapy” and action-focused behaviour therapy to create deep, powerful and rapid change. I can work with you in the following areas:-
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with Hypnosis
Coach you towards your goals
Promote your well-being with mindfulness techniques
Help you to manage stress and anxiety
Help you to overcome fears and phobias e.g. fear of flying, spiders, public speaking etc
Help you to break bad habits, nail-biting, overeating etc
Help you with self-confidence, self-belief and self-acceptance
For children & young people, I can help with bullying and social anxieties
My aim is to work collaboratively with you, helping you to uncover negative thinking, and unhelpful feelings and behaviours; in order to modify your thoughts into more positive self-talk, regulate your awareness and focus your attention. Together we will find the best techniques that will work for you during treatment and help you to maintain successful outcomes in the longer term.
I use imagery to stimulate your imagination. Visualisation with hypnosis can be particularly powerful and beneficial. You will also learn how to use self-hypnosis techniques, to continue with your own progress and development beyond the therapy room.
The shift in your overall perception allows you to gain control and cope with life situations more effectively, helping you to achieve your therapeutic goals.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) is a combination of Clinical Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
It is a researched and evidence-based practice, highlighting the benefits to inspire change at the very deepest level.
The British Medical Association, the American Medical Association and the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) recognise Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy as an approved treatment for stress-related disorders.
My experience working with children and young people enables me to adapt the tools and techniques to make them age-appropriate.In fact its mainly children in therapy at the moment.
